On 19th July, a bus belonging to Emmanuel Nyirenda of Emusa in Lundazi was involved in an accident, just at Languani turn-off, on the Lundazi-Chama road. Seven persons are reported to have died on the spot. The small 16 seater brown mini-bus collided with an on-coming truck. The driver of the truck was on the wrong side of the road. What grief and anguish as I,and my work colleagues visited the bereaved families the following day. The issue of road carnage has reached alarming proportions. It is the concern of government and citizens of Zambia. As a Bible believing Christian, I am able to look at this problem from a holistic perspective. Sad indeed to lose a bread winner of the home. My prayer goes out for all those affected by this tragedy. Our main problem is sin. Yes, how little this taint, condition and inherent aspect is mentioned today. Why would a truck driver be cruising at a blind spot and be on the wrong side of the road? Why would the road be left unattended to by government? Oh, how sin rules mankind with rigor! We see the results of a sin stricken humanity all around us! ROMANS 6.23 My friend, you who reads this blog, if you have any sense of a realization of your own sin, helplessness and lack of anchorage in life; hear not the skeptic who would have you believe that man can take care of his problems, because, so he thinks, that the problem lise in mans environment. The problem is within man. See the cross of Jesus Christ today; it is God's solution for our problem. Flee to that rugged cross my friend. You will find that He bore your sin and mine there!
